Code of Practice
The Department of Environment, Science and Innovation (D.E.S.I.) are our overruling body who grant our license. They supply the guidelines for the size of aviaries and pens necessary to look after our wildlife, and O.N.A.R.R. follows their guidelines.
It's not all cuteness that we deal with i.e. putting bottles in mouths and cuddling orphans. We also need to deal with the other end - wiping bottoms (cloaca's) and cleaning up messes. Not to mention the washing.
There can be night time feeds, and all day squawking, building and cleaning aviaries and cages, and the list goes on. Raisin

There can be night time feeds, and all day squawking, building and cleaning aviaries and cages, and the list goes on. Raising a joey (of any species) or a chick from such a small age (and a big disadvantage) requires serious dedication to the job but being a wildlife carer is truly rewarding.
Support members are always welcome. As a support member you receive our quarterly newsletter and are welcome to attend workshops but not expected to be a carer.
Release sites are also most welcome. We do not always need to use release sites, but it is good to have them on our books for those 'just in case' moments.

You can choose the species that you would accept on your property. We look for sites with property, not close to main highways or new suburbs.
This email is NOT for rescues as it is not monitored 24/7.
